The Public Bodies Act 2011 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that granted ministers powers to reorganise, merge, or abolish certain public bodies by secondary legislation, without requiring a separate Act of Parliament for each change. The Act was introduced as part of the coalition government's programme to reduce the number of quangos following a review that identified 904 public bodies as candidates for reform. It received Royal Assent on 14 December 2011 and is considered the legislative successor to the Quangos Act 1979, which was never passed.
